For Families & Homeowners

More bills than paydays? Let's roll it into one.

We know what you’re juggling. School fees, uniforms, sport rego and a grocery bill that never seems to stop growing.

Add in the car loan, a credit card or two, and a Buy Now Pay Later account that seemed harmless at the time.

Then the cost of living jumped, and now the mortgage is just one of many bills fighting over the same pay.

You're not bad with money; raising a family just costs more than it used to. That's where Up Finance can help.

What Is Debt Consolidation?

It's rolling your debts, like car loans, credit cards, personal loans and Buy Now Pay Later, into one loan with one repayment.

If you own your home and have enough equity, we can help refinance your home loan and fold those debts in together.

This is useful as home loan rates are generally much lower than cards or personal loans, so your monthly outgoings can drop, and the family budget gets some breathing room.

Is Debt Consolidation Right for Your Family?

Before anything, we'll work out what your new repayment would be, whether the new rate actually beats what you're paying now, which debts are worth rolling in, and what it costs over the life of the loan, not just this month.

If the numbers don't stack up, we're happy to tell you straight.

How We Work

First, have a chat with us. Tell us what you owe, who to, and what your regular family costs look like.

From there, we build out a personalised plan. We find the right lender and structure for your household, whether you're on one income, two, or juggling part-time work around the kids.

Then we settle and simplify. What you end up with is one loan and one repayment, and we check in after settlement to keep you on track.

No Short-Term Fixes

Rolling debt into a 30-year loan without a plan often just moves the problem. We map out how to pay it down faster, so you're not back in the same spot when the next big expense comes along.

Debt Consolidation FAQs

Do we need to own our home?

Yes. You'll need a property with enough equity to cover the debts you want to roll in. If equity is tight, we'll tell you what's realistic on the first chat.

Will we save money?

In most cases, your monthly repayments drop because home loan rates are generally much lower than credit cards, personal loans and car finance. But spreading short-term debt over a longer loan can mean paying more interest overall if it's not managed properly. That's why we look at the full picture, not just the monthly number.

Aren't we just stretching our debt over 30 years?

Not if it's done right. We set things up to take the pressure off now, then help you pay the debt down faster with extra repayments and regular loan reviews.

Can we include Buy Now Pay Later and credit cards?

Yes. Small balances spread across Afterpay-style accounts and cards add up quickly, and clearing them is often one of the easiest wins for the family budget.

Will this hurt our credit score?

Applying for a new loan involves a credit check, which can cause a small, temporary dip. We plan things properly before applying, so you're not hit with multiple enquiries. Once your debts are rolled into one and you're making regular repayments, your credit file usually improves over time.

We're on one income, or one of us works part-time. Can we still qualify?

Often, yes. Lenders look at your total household income and expenses, including things like Family Tax Benefit in some cases. We'll find a lender whose rules fit how your family actually earns.

What documents do we need?

Usually ID, recent payslips for each earner, your home loan statement, and statements for each debt you want to consolidate. We'll send you a simple checklist after the first chat.

How long does everything take?

Once we have your documents, most refinances settle within a few weeks. We'll keep you updated the whole way.
